Introduction: Another Year, Another Version of Me
Every year on my birthday, I don’t just celebrate.
I reflect.
Not on what I’ve achieved—
but on who I’ve become.
And this year, I find myself thinking about the girl I used to be.
The one who didn’t know how things would turn out.
The one who was still learning how to exist in her own world.
So this is for her.

Dear younger me,
I know you overthink everything.
You replay conversations in your head.
You wonder if you said the wrong thing.
You try so hard to be understood.
I wish I could sit next to you and tell you this:
You don’t need to try so hard.
The right people will understand you
without you having to shrink or explain yourself.
I know you’re afraid of losing people.
So you hold on longer than you should.
You stay even when it doesn’t feel right.
But one day, you’ll learn that:
Not everyone is meant to stay. And that’s not your failure.
It’s life making space for something more aligned.
You’re also so hard on yourself.
You think you need to have everything figured out by now.
You compare your journey to others.
But here’s the truth:
You’re not behind.
You’re just on your own timeline.
And one day, you’ll look back and realize
that everything you thought was falling apart
was actually helping you find yourself.
I want you to know that you will grow.
Not into someone perfect—
but into someone who understands herself.
Someone who sets boundaries.
Someone who chooses peace.
Someone who no longer abandons herself to be loved.
And most importantly,
you will become someone you feel safe with.
So take your time.
You don’t need to rush your becoming.
I’m here now.
And we’re okay.
With love,
Me.
Conclusion: Growth Is the Quietest Kind of Celebration
This birthday, I’m not celebrating perfection.
I’m celebrating growth.
Healing.
Becoming.
Because the most beautiful thing I’ve learned is this:
You don’t become someone new.You return to who you’ve always been—just stronger, softer, and more aware.
