✨ Hey guys, it’s Joy Alice here!
Let’s get real for a moment.
Between filming, editing, writing, replying to emails, and keeping up with trends, I found myself in a place I didn’t expect – burned out. Yep. Even someone who loves what she does can hit a wall.
🚩 When did I know I was burnt out?
I woke up feeling exhausted even after 8 hours of sleep.
I lost interest in my usual morning routine – checking DMs, planning content, filming.
Everything felt like a chore.
Worst of all? My creativity disappeared.
💡 So what did I actually do?
1. I gave myself permission to rest
Taking a break doesn’t mean failure. I had to remind myself that I’m not a machine. So I unplugged – no social media, no filming, no pressure. Just sleep, food, nature walks, and some meditation.
2. I simplified my workflow
Instead of overwhelming to-do lists, I started using the 1–3–5 rule:
1 big task
3 medium tasks
5 small tasks
That helped me stay focused and actually finish things without the guilt of doing too little.
3. I moved my body
A bit of yoga, light walks, deep breathing – nothing intense, just movement. It made such a difference to my mental clarity.
4. I journaled
Every night, I wrote down:
3 things I’m grateful for
1 thing that drained me
1 thing I want to change
It was like a mental detox. So simple but powerful.
🌱 What happened after?
After about a week of doing this, I felt like Joy Alice 2.0. Not magically healed, but recharged, re-inspired, and excited to create again.
🫂 If you’re in the same boat…
Don’t push through just to keep up. Take that pause. Listen to your body. Because burnout isn’t failure — it’s your inner voice saying “please take care of me.”
You got this.
Love, Joy.
